Kind words

The moments that stay with us.

Words from families and learners who have been part of Sora’s story.

Before I contacted Sora Tutoring I was at my wits’ end.

My child was in Year 4 with the academic level of a child in Year 2 in both Maths and English. I spoke to Ebenezer, who was immediately reassuring. He was relatable and my son absolutely loves him. In less than six months, not only was my son on target, his teacher praised him for making the most progress out of all the children in his year. He even got recognition as learner of the year. I’m so thrilled with Ebenezer and Sora Tutoring. They care about the children and their education, and each lesson is tailored to your child’s learning style. I’ve recommended them to friends and strangers alike.

Kadien S.Parent · Maths & English

I went from a 4 to a 7 in Maths.

Clear, patient and always prepared. Every lesson started with what I was stuck on, and by mock season I actually felt ready.

Jordan T.Student · GCSE

Sora Tutoring really came through when we needed them.

In the midst of a pandemic, when online learning was making education difficult, the attentive and responsive tutors helped keep my daughter on top of her studies. She went on to get the highest marks in her A-Levels. She’s now headed to Oxford, and we’re all grateful for the help Sora Tutoring was able to provide.

Felicia A.Parent · A-Level

The WhatsApp group is brilliant.

I always know what was covered, what the homework is and what’s coming next, without having to chase anyone.

Adaeze O.Parent · KS3

Sora Tutoring has helped me a lot with both my Geography and Criminology A-Level.

That is thanks to my favourite tutor, Leila. She’s gone above and beyond.

Simone A.Student · A-Level

Organic chemistry finally makes sense.

I used to dread it. Now it’s the part of the paper I look forward to.

sora · Japanese for “sky”

Named after Kingdom Hearts and the Japanese word for sky, because your potential is just as wide open.

Our story · The people behind Sora

Good support can change the way you see yourself.

Sora began with a simple conversation: what becomes possible when someone has the right tools, teaching and support?

That idea still guides us. Founded by Ebenezer, Sora is a small tutoring team with a personal approach. We’re here to help learners understand more, feel more confident, and discover what they can do.

From a question you’ve been afraid to ask to a topic that finally makes sense, there’s room for every step of the journey.

The key to unlocking your potential.

Our Promise

Free tutoring for students with the potential, but not the opportunity

Disadvantage often starts early and lasts because of a lack of money and opportunity. Our Promise gives a half term of free tutoring, on a rolling basis, to Black British students of Afro-Caribbean descent.

Students aged 8 to 18 who meet at least one of these:

  • From a single-parent household
  • Receiving free school meals
  • Attending a state (non-fee-paying) school
